Williams sponsor Independent School Caterer of the Year 2013 at the EDUcatering Excellence Awards.
Williams Refrigeration were proud sponsors of the recently held EDUcatering Excellence Awards 2013 that saw over 380 of the school catering elite gather to pay tribute to those that have exceeded over the past year. The awards were hosted at the luxurious Royal Garden Hotel by Alan Dewberry and Jane Renton, CEO and Editorial Director of EDUcatering respectively.
Sixteen awards were presented in total, with a surprise Special Award presented to John Vincent and Henry Dimbleby for their impressive work launching the School Food Plan.
Williams Sales & Marketing Director, Malcolm Harling presented the Independent School Caterer of the Year award to Ceri Ward of the RSA Academy.
Since becoming an academy five years ago, the RSA has built a range of services that provide students, staff and visitors with healthy, varied and nutritional meals. Through her innovative ideas and an improvement in the quality of the food provision, Ceri has led the school to a meal uptake of 60% - an increase from just 34% five years ago.
Entertainment throughout the evening was provided by a fantastic Schools Got Talent competition with the top prize being scooped by the incredible Hollie Haines.

The Awards evening began with an informal champagne and canapé reception before the presentations got underway.
Malcolm Harling, Sales and Marketing Director of Williams, presented the prestigious CSR Award to Lexington Catering.
‘We are committed to operating our business in a socially responsible way’, said Rachel Lindner, director in CSR for Lexington, ‘but with a heavy focus on reducing our impact on the environment, rewarding and recognising our people and looking at how we can benefit and work with our local community’.
Malcolm Harling commented ‘It’s a real pleasure to have presented the award to Lexington Catering in recognition of their social responsibility programme, especially as it aligns so well with our own CSR commitment through our Greenlogic initiative’.
